Some Moths during July

Overnight weather conditions during July haven't been too bad for moth trapping. 

The variety of moth species attracted to the light is much greater during the summer months and there are some real beauties about.

Scarce Silver-lines (Bena bicolorana)




Green Silver-lines (Pseudoips prasinana britannica)




Bordered Beauty (Epione repandaria)




Small Yellow Wave (Hydrelia flammeolaria)




Coronet (Craniophora ligustri) (form coronula)




Scalloped Hook-tip (Falcaria lacertinaria) (female)




Mottled Beauty (Alcis repandata repandata) (female) (form muraria)




Black Arches (Lymantria monacha) (male)





Jersey Tiger (Euplagia quadripunctaria)
